The first thing you need to do is define what being a superstar means to you. If you just have a nebulous idea, it’s not a goal you can reach. Define what goals you want to achieve, and how you can achieve them. Then you’ll have a solid starting point.

Believe in Your Approach

Next, you have to be absolutely certain that you’re taking the right approach. Whatever you are doing now must be something you truly believe in. You can’t become great if you don’t believe in what you’re doing wholeheartedly.

Believe in Your Company

Not only do you have to believe in your approach, but you also have to believe in your company. Whether it’s your own business or a company you’re currently working for, you must believe it is the best company anywhere.

It’s not narcissistic to believe that you’re the best there is at what you do. You have to believe this in order to find the success you crave. If you doubt yourself, you won’t be as effective at what you do. When you find someone you think is better, then do whatever it takes to surpass them.

Forget the Economy

Forgetting the economy can be tough, no doubt, but those who are truly successful can succeed regardless of the economic environment. Become an expert at what you do—and have an ironclad belief in yourself, your business and your approach—and you’ll succeed regardless of the state of the economy.
